وُلدت سهير فخري في القاهرة عام 1943.. وقد ظهرت في فيلم خلود 1948 بطولة فاتن حمامة وهي طفلة.. وشاركت كذلك في العديد من الأعمال.ثم ابتعدت عن الشاشة 13 سنة ثم عادة مرة أخري إلي السينما وهي شابة رائعة الجمال؛ حتي لقبوها بفاتنة السينما.

وكان أول فيلم شاركت فيه هو فيلم أجازة صيف عام 1966 بطولة زكي رستم.

تزوجت سهير من المحامي والسيناريست والكاتب والمخرج محمد كامل حسن وأنجبت منه طفلين.. ولكن لم يدم هذا الزواج طويلا بسبب شيطان يملك القوة والنفوذ..

فأثناء عملها في فيلم أجازة صيف رآها عبد المنعم أبو زيد؛ الحارس الشخصي وسكرتير المشير عبد الحكيم عامر (وزير حربية عبد الناصر) وأُعجب بها. وبمنتهي الوقاحة طلب أبو زيد من زوجها محمد كامل أن يطلقها ويتركها له. ولكن الرجل رفض ذلك وأعلن تمسكه بزوجته..

فما كان من الظالم المستأسد إلا أن ألقي القبض عليه وأودعه بمستشفى المجانين.. وفي نفس الوقت أجبر الزوجة (الفنانة سهير فخري) علي طلب الطلاق منه. وتم الطلاق وتزوج منها بالإكراه..خرج محمد كامل بعد أربع سنوات من مستشفي الأمراض النفسية؛ ليستكمل مسلسل القهر؛ فيتم نفيه إلي لبنان عام 1970.

أما الشيطان عبد المنعم أبو زيد؛ فانتهي به الحال في السجن. إذ قبل نكسة عام 1967؛ تم إلقاء القبض علي أبو زيد وعلي شفيق وشمس بدران.عادت بعد ذلك سهير فخري إلي السينما ومثلت عدة أفلام سينمائية. وكان آخرها فيلم رجل بلا ملامح مع الفنانة نادية لطفي..

وسهير فخري هي أم تامر الصراف رجل الأعمال زوج الفنانة رانيا فريد شوقي.. ولكنها وفجأة تقرر الاعتزال نهائيا؛ في متصف السبعينات؛ حيث بلغ رصيد أعمالها 24 فيلما سينمائيا.. وفي صمت رحلت سهير فخري إلي رحمة ربها في شهر سبتمبر عام 2018 عن عمر يناهز ال 75 عاما.
