قرر مسئولو اتحاد الكرة المصري برئاسة أحمد مجاهد، تجديد الثقة فى البرتغالي كارلوس كيروش المدير الفني لـ منتخب مصر الوطني لكرة القدم، على الرغم من خسارته مباراة تحديد المركز الثالث ببطولة كأس العرب أمام المنتخب القطري، وضياع الميدالية البرونزية.

بطولة أمم أفريقيا
وجاء قرار أحمد مجاهد بتجديد الثقة فى كارلوس كيروش، نظرا لضيق الوقت قبل انطلاق بطولة الأمم الأفريقية التي تنطلق فعالياتها فى الكاميرون فى التاسع من يناير المقبل، أى بعد 22 يومًا بالتمام، فيما ينطلق معسكر منتخب مصر استعدادا للبطولة بعد 10 أيام تقريبا.
