جونسون يطرق باب السعودية.. فهل من مجيب ؟

تلقى ولي العهد السعودي الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبد العزيز اتصالا هاتفيا من رئيس الوزراء البريطاني بوريس جونسون. وجرى خلال الاتصال بحث العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين في مختلف المجالات وفرص تطويرها. كما تم بحث عدد من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

دافعت بريطانيا عن مساعيها لممارسة الضغوط على السعودية لزيادة إنتاجها من النفط بعدما بدأ المستهلكون الغربيون يلمسون على أنفسهم تداعيات العقوبات المفروضة ضد روسيا.

ولم ينف وزير الإسكان والمجتمعات البريطاني مايكل غوف تقارير نشرتها السبت صحيفة “ذا تايمز” أفادت بأن “رئيس الوزراء بوريس جونسون سيجري زيارة للسعودية خلال أيام”.

وأوردت الصحيفة أن “جونسون سيمارس الضغوط على ولي العهد السعودي الأمير محمد بن سلمان لحث الرياض على المساهمة في تخفيف وطأة تداعيات العقوبات المفروضة على روسيا عن الغربيين، بعدما أعلنت بريطانيا والولايات المتحدة حظر الواردات النفطية الروسية”.

وقال غوف في تصريح لشبكة “سكاي نيوز” الإخبارية: “علينا أن نعتمد على استيراد النفط من بلدان عدة لا نوافق على سجلها في مجال حقوق الإنسان”، وذلك على خلفية إعلان السعودية إعدام 81 محكوما يوم واحد.

وأضاف: “السعودية شريك أمني لبريطانيا، وأعتقد أن هناك مخاوف على صلة بحقوق الإنسان.. نحن واضحون بهذا الشأن”.

وأدت تداعيات العقوبات المفروضة على روسيا إلى ارتفاع أسعار البنزين ووقود الديزل في بريطانيا إلى مستويات قياسية، مما فاقم أزمة معيشية تواجهها الأسر مع ارتفاع تكلفة التدفئة.

وقال جونسون الخميس الماضي إن “بريطانيا وحلفاءها يسعون لإيجاد بدائل عن النفط والغاز الروسيين، لتجنب الوقوع مجددا ضحية ابتزاز يمارسه الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين”.

وأوردت صحيفة “ذا تايمز”، أن “جونسون أكثر قدرة على ممارسة الضغط على بن سلمان بما أنه بقي على تواصل معه عبر تطبيق واتساب على الرغم من قضية اغتيال الصحفي السعودي المعارض جمال خاشقجي عام 2018”.
