حيث روت الفنانة مريم فخر الدين أنها كادت أن تفقد حياتها فى أحد أيام فصل الشتاء، بسبب غزارة الأمطار، وذلك بعدما دعتها صديقة لها من الوسط الفنى لقضاء عطلة نهاية الأسبوع فى الفيوم معها، فاشترطت عليها أن يبدأوا رحلتهم بعد منتصف الليل حتى تنتهي من عملها فى الإستديو، وفى الموعد المحدد مرت عليها بسيارتها وانطلقوا فى طريقهم إلي الفيوم.

وعندما كانوا في الطريق انهالت عليهم أمطار غزيرة، وتعثرت السيارة وانحرفت إلى جانب الطريق، حيث اختلطت الرمال بمياه الأمطار فتحولت إلى وحل وحاولت صديقتها أن تشق الطريق وسط الأوحال، ولكن فجأة دارت فى يدها عجلة القيادة بسرعة، ولم تشعر إلا وقد انقلبت السيارة على جانبها.

وأوضحت مريم فخر الدين خلال إحدى حوارتها الصحفية كيف نجت من هذا الموقف المميت قائلة: “صرخنا وقد اقتربنا من الموت ولكن الله سلم، وجاهدنا حتى نخرج من السيارة لنقف تحت المطر الغزير، ولكن أصابنا الرعب بعد أن سمعنا عويل الذئاب”.

وأضافت: “كانت صديقتى فى حالة يرثى لها، وأنتظرنا أى سيارة لتنقذنا من هذا الموقف، وأشعلنا أعواد الثقاب حتى ترانا أى سيارة على الطريق، وبالفعل توقفت إحدى السيارات وركبنا فيها إلى الفيوم، وفى الصباح عدنا إلى سيارة صديقتى ومعنا ميكانيكى، وكان موقفاً لن أنساه فى حياتى”.

ولدت برنسيسة الأحلام في ٨ يناير ١٩٣٣، بالفيوم، ووالدها كان يعمل مهندس ري، ووالدتها مجرية الأصل تعرّف بها والدها وتزوجها أثناء سفرها بالخارج، لها شقيق واحد هو الممثل يوسف فخر الدين.
