فى إطار خطة القيادة العامة للقوات المسلحة لتعزيز ودعم علاقات التعاون العسكرى ونقل وتبادل الخبرات مع الدول الصديقة ، نفذت وحدات من القوات البحرية المصرية واليونانية تدريباً بحرياً عابراً بنطاق بحر إيجه شمال البحر المتوسط وذلك أثناء رحلة عودة الوحدات البحرية عقب إنتهاء فعاليات التدريب المصرى الروسى المشترك ” جسر الصداقة -3 ” والذى تم تنفيذه بنطاق المياه الإقليمية لجمهورية روسيا الإتحادية .

ونفذت الوحدات عدداً من الأنشطة شملت تمرين تشكيلات الإبحار ، وتمرين مواصلات ، وعدداً من الأنشطة التدريبية لتعزيز إجراءات الأمن البحرى فى البحر المتوسط وتحقيق التوافق فى أداء المهام القتالية للإسطولين المصرى واليونانى ، وبما يتفق مع القواعد الدولية المعمول بها فى أعالى البحار .

يذكر أن التدريب يسهم فى تبادل الخبرات المشتركة مع الجانب اليونانى ، والإستفادة من القدرات الثنائية فى تحقيق المصالح المشتركة لكلا الجانبين وتعزيز التعاون العسكرى بين القوات البحرية المصرية واليونانية .
