أدان شيخ الأزهر، الدكتور أحمد الطيب، اقتحام قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي للمسجد الأقصى.

وقال في بيان له اليوم الاثنين «لا يزال العالم في صمتٍ مُخزٍ تجاه الإرهاب الصهيوني الغاشم وانتهاكاته المخزية في حق المسجد الأقصى وإخواننا ومقدساتنا في فلسطين العروبة».

وأردف «تبقى فلسطين أبيَّة على الطغاة مهما طال الزمن، ويظل شعبها مرابطًا على أرضه وعِرضِه ومقدساته، مدافعًا عن الأقصى المبارك أولى القبلتين وثالث الحرمين».

وختم «تحية إجلالٍ وإكبارٍ لهذا الشعب المظلوم، اللهم أيدهم بنصرك، واحفظهم بحفظك ورعايتك، وكن لهم عونًا وأمنًا وسلامًا، يا أرحم الراحمين».
